I have been banging the table for a number of years that the current monetary system is nearing its end. A major event like the end of a monetary regime and subsequent move to a new reserve currency is a process that happens over the course of years or decades. However, this process has been under way since the Global Financial Crisis. And now, due to the Covid-19 crisis and all the economic stress it has wrought, this process is being expedited.
